Snohomish County PUD Rebates

How Snohomish County PUD Heat Pump Rebates Actually Work

Snohomish County PUD pays instant rebates on high-efficiency heat pumps — the money comes off your bill rather than arriving months later. There are real eligibility rules, and the rebate has to be processed by a PUD-registered contractor. ExactAir is completing that registration now, so we can't apply this particular rebate to your job yet — we'd rather tell you here than at the end.

The numbers

What the PUD actually pays

Current as of July 2026, straight from Snohomish County PUD. Rebate programs change — if you're reading this later, call us and we'll confirm today's figures before you plan around them.

$1,800

Ducted heat pump — conversion

Minimum 7.5 HSPF2 / 13.8 SEER2

$2,500

Ducted heat pump — inverter-driven

Minimum 8.5 HSPF2 / 13.8 SEER2

The catch nobody mentions

This rebate is for homes heated primarily by electricity — electric furnaces and electric baseboard heat. If you heat with gas, you generally won't qualify for it. We'd rather tell you that on this page than after we've been out to your house.

The work also has to be done by a PUD-registered contractor, and the equipment has to hit the efficiency ratings above. Both of those are on us to get right, not you.

How it works

Four steps, and we handle three of them

01

We check whether you qualify

The PUD rebate is for Snohomish County PUD customers whose home is heated primarily by electricity. We'll look at your setup before you spend a dollar and tell you straight if you don't qualify.

02

We size the system properly

The rebate requires specific efficiency ratings (HSPF2/SEER2). We spec equipment that clears the threshold and actually suits your home — not the biggest box we can sell you.

03

The rebate is instant, through a registered contractor

PUD rebates come off your initial bill rather than being claimed back later — but only when the work is done by a contractor registered with the PUD.

04

Where we stand today

ExactAir is completing PUD contractor registration. Until that's finished we can't apply this particular rebate to your job, and we'd rather say so up front than surprise you at the end. Ask us where it stands — and check current figures with the PUD Energy Hotline on 425-783-1700.

Why a heat pump here

Everett is a heating town that's starting to need cooling

A heat pump is the one system that does both — and it's why Washington is pushing homes toward them.

It heats through a Snohomish winter

Modern cold-climate heat pumps keep working well below freezing. This isn't the technology your neighbour complained about fifteen years ago.

It cools in July, too

Roughly half of Washington homes have no air conditioning at all. A heat pump solves both problems with one piece of equipment and one install.

It's where the state is heading

Washington's energy code now pushes heat pumps for most new home construction. Converting now, with a rebate, beats converting later without one.
